Dan Marc Appliance was built around one idea: the person who diagnoses your appliance should be the person who repairs it, and the price you are quoted should be the price you pay.

Forty years of one trade

We have been repairing appliances in the tri-state area since 1984. Four decades in a single trade produces a particular kind of knowledge: we have seen how these machines fail, in these houses, in this climate. A brownstone kitchen in Hoboken and a colonial in Scarsdale do not break the same way, and knowing that in advance is most of a fast diagnosis.

How we work

We are a mobile, in-home repair company. There is no workshop to leave your appliance at and no queue to wait in. A technician comes to you, inside an arrival window, with factory-certified parts already on the truck.

Every visit follows the same sequence. Diagnose properly, using measurements and the appliance’s own stored fault history rather than guesswork. Quote a flat price covering parts and labour. Get your approval. Then, and only then, open the appliance up.

What makes us different

We are factory authorized. Trained and certified by Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, JennAir and Amana. That is the difference between following the manufacturer’s diagnostic procedure and working it out by elimination at your expense.

We say no when we should. If a repair costs more than half of a comparable new appliance and the unit is past two thirds of its service life, we will tell you to replace it. We would rather lose one job than sell you a part you should not buy.

We take built-ins seriously. Column refrigerators, wine cabinets, integrated dishwashers and double wall ovens are core work for us. Pulling a panel-ready unit out of custom cabinetry without marking it takes time, and we take that time.

We finish on the first visit. Our trucks carry factory-certified parts on every call, because a second appointment is a failure of preparation rather than a normal part of the job.

Our technicians

Our technicians are factory trained on the brands they service and hold EPA certification for sealed-system refrigeration work. They carry manufacturer documentation and diagnostic tooling for the equipment that actually fills kitchens here.

They also carry an instruction that matters more than any of that: explain what failed and why, in plain language, before quoting anything.

Where we work

We cover New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, with city pages on this site for sixteen of them across Bergen, Passaic, Hudson, Westchester and Nassau counties. Our base is on York Avenue in West Caldwell, New Jersey.
